Virtual Support Groups

Parents of Older Youth

Join other adoptive & guardianship caregivers with children in middle/upper grades for a live, video check-in to socially connect and discuss topics related to adoption. This support group with be facilitated by Susan McParker, Adoption & Permanency Support Specialist from our La Crosse office. The group size will be limited, so please pre-register via Eventbrite. This group will happen every other week. Join as often as you would like.

Connect with other adult adoptees from around Wisconsin. This will be a space for discussing your adoption experiences with others who “get it”, as well as for just getting to know one another and talking about life. This group is facilitated by an area adult adoptee.

Single Parent Support

An online support group for single adoptive and guardianship parents. This group will meet via Zoom on the 4th Tuesday of every month and will be facilitated by Heather Hansen. Join the conversation!

Sibling Support Group

A virtual support group for those aged 12-16. Join other siblings of blended families also part of an adoption or foster placement for a live, video group session to socially connect and discuss topics related to challenges that arise in these family dynamics. This group will take place approximately once every six weeks on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. Join as often as you would like.

Adoption Triad Sharing Circle

An opportunity for all members of the adoption triad, including birth parents, adopted adults, and adoptive parents, to come together in a safe, confidential, and welcoming space to share their stories. It will be a space where everyone’s voices are heard and respected in order to support one another and to learn from each person’s perspective.

Birth Parent Support

An online support group for birth parents who have placed a child for adoption. This group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month and will be facilitated by Karla Meyer out of our Eau Claire office. Join the conversation!

KINnect Relative Caregivers of Children-Morning

Please continue to join us for this opportunity to connect with other parents and grandparents as a way to share the joys and challenges of being a relative caregiver. Our daytime meetings will continue to be held virtually on the last Thursday of the month from 11am-12pm. However; we now have a second evening opportunity which meets virtually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6 pm-7 pm. Please feel free to sign up for one or more of the monthly groups.

WI Foster Care & Child/Family Human Service Professionals

Social workers and professionals working in foster care and other child & family human services fields in Wisconsin – this lunch hour virtual check-in group is for YOU! You work tirelessly to support Wisconsin’s children & families, and this group is intended to provide a safe space for you to think about your self for a bit. Each session will focus on a different aspect of healing and self-compassion from a trauma-informed perspective. Sessions will include time for both sharing and practicing in a small, virtual setting (utilizing Zoom).

Trauma Informed Parenting

Adoptive, Kinship & Guardianship parents and caregivers: Please join us for a trauma-informed virtual support group just for you! This groups is especially for caregivers who are:
-Parenting youth with trauma histories
-Parenting youth with emotional or behavioral challenges and/or diagnoses such as RAD, DMDD, & ODD.

The group meets on the 3rd Monday of each month from noon (12:00 pm) – 1:00 pm.
